Solibri

With the Solibri integration, you can open BIM models directly in Solibri from within Prostream. This allows you to modify models more quickly and upload new versions to Prostream. When you upload a new version in Prostream, it is also loaded immediately in Solibri.

1. Connecting aProstreamto Solibri

To connect a CDE or server, you need an account for that CDE or server.

  1. Open Solibri and select Integrations from the left-hand menu. If you already have Solibri open, click File → Integrations.

  2. Click Connect next to the Documents API.

  3. Select the server from the dropdown menu and click OK.

  4. A new browser tab will open. Enter the required information to authenticate your access, then close the window.

  5. You are now connected to Prostream in Solibri.

2. Opening Models from Prostream in Solibri

You can open one or more files at a time. Supported file types are .ifc, .zip, and .pdf.

⚠️ Note: It is not possible to open multiple .smc files at the same time. However, you can combine an .smc file with an .ifc file.

  1. Click File → Open Model.

  2. Go to the CDE tab (Prostream).

  3. Click Add files.

  4. Navigate to the files and click Download.

  5. The selected files will appear in the window.

  6. Click Open.

💡 Tip: The CDE tab is only visible after you’ve connected via the integration page.

3. Upload models to Prostream

  1. Save the model to your computer.

  2. Click Upload Model.

  3. A new browser window will open. Navigate to the correct folder and click Upload.

  4. Close the window.

💡 Tip: Prostream may ask you to fill in metadata when uploading files.

4. Update to a new version

You can only select and update .ifc and .smc files.

  1. Right-click on the model and select Update Models, or click File → Update Models.

  2. Choose one of the three options:

    • Update — manually update models. If the file name has changed, locate the new version using the folder icon.

    • Automatic — updates are performed automatically in the background. Make sure the new version has the same name and is in the same folder.

    • Prompt — you’ll receive a notification when an update is available. Make sure the new version has the same name and is in the same folder.

  3. Select “Use Documents API file” and click OK.

  4. A new browser window will open. Select the correct file and click Download X document(s) → OK.

After every update or change to the model tree structure, Solibri will notify you that there are unsynchronized results. Rulesets will be grayed out and reporting will be disabled. Click Check Model or Check Selected to rerun the checks.
