Opening and Editing Files

1. Editing Locally

To edit files locally, use the Prostream Client. With the Prostream Client, you can open files directly from Prostream using a program on your computer.

To use the Prostream Client, you’ll need to download the desktop app:

• Microsoft Store

• App Store

⚠️ Note: You need macOS 14.5 or later to use the App Store.

1. Select the file.

2. Click Edit.

3. Click Edit Locally.

4. ProstreamClient opens the file.

5. Edit the file.

6. Save the file.

7. Close the editor.

8. Select the file.

9. Click Publish to upload the new version.

⚠️ Note: To publish the file, the editing program must be closed.

2. Edit Online

Edit online with Microsoft Office. Open your files directly in the browser. This allows you to collaborate with colleagues on the same file without having to download anything.

1. Select the file.

2. Click Edit.

3. Click Edit in the Web.

4. The file opens in your browser. You can edit the file right away.

5. Close the file to save it.

⚠️ Note: As long as a file is open in the online editing tool, it is locked in Prostream. This prevents duplicate versions.

3. Editing PDF Files with Apryse

To edit PDF files, use the Apryse tool. With this tool, you can add comments, sign the document, add stamps, and much more.

1. Select the PDF file.

2. Click the three dots.

3. Click on Apryse.

4. Edit the file.

Save the file

There are two ways to save the file:

1. Save changes as a new version – the changes are saved to the file as a new version in Prostream.

2. Save comments in Apryse – only the comments are saved within Apryse.

Click the three dashes to save:

• Option 1: Save as a new version

• Option 2: Save

4. BIM Models and 3D Files

1. Select the file and click the cube icon. The first time you do this, the file will be converted—this may take a moment.

2. Once the icon changes to a 3D cube, click on it to open the BIM viewer.

   ⚠️ Note: If the icon is light gray, an older version has been converted to 3D
